Halloween Treat for QuakeCon Gamers General News
Hey everyone! What's going on?

We received a nice letter from Donson Lee of FSP Group, a QuakeCon sponsor for the past few years. Donson truly and wholeheartedly loves our little event and everything it represents. And he has quite literally "saved QuakeCon" in the past, delivering crucial hardware for tournament PC's at the last minute after certain other unnamed sponsors dropped the ball.

Anyway, he wanted to let us know about some great deals his company is running just for QuakeCon gamers. These include store credit, free gifts, and free shipping. Check out Donson's letter here:

We know things have been quiet around here lately. But the latest scientific tests have indicated that there may be some big news soon!

Ciao!

The Aftermath... General News
It's been a little over a week since QuakeCon 2008 ended, and while most attendees are settling back into their normal routines, the staff is already looking back over this year and making plans for improving things in 2009.

The Coverage team is sorting through the thousands of photographs taken this year to put together our official galleries for 2008. In the next couple of days we'll also be putting up galleries for the pictures of attendees taken with the QuakeCon and Wolfenstein girls. The photographs taken of the tournament players and teams will be posted as well. If you took pictures or video this year and would like to share them with everyone, please post a link in the forum thread.

If you have an awesome story to share from this year, please hit up the QuakeCon Stories Forum and tell us about your 2008 experience.

Finally, to hold you over, here's a final wrap-up video featuring attendees telling us what they loved about QuakeCon 2008, as well as some footage of the teardown and volunteer schwag give-away.

Updated!

As promised, here are links to some requested galleries:
Additionally we have a final gallery of Saturday Night's events and Sunday's Teardown:

Finally, our coverage partners this year, EnemyTerritory.tv and QuakeUnity.com have their QuakeCon videos now available. ET.tv has both streaming and downloadable videos available of interviews, Carmack's Keynote, and other events. QuakeUnity has several tournament demos available including the Quake Live 1v1 finals and awards. Thanks again to our coverage partners this year, and be sure to check out their work.

It's all over but the tear down General News
Well, another QuakeCon 2008 has come to a close, but before all the staff packs up their gear and heads back to the "real world" let's get one final update.

The results of last night's QuakeCon 2008 Tournament finals are now available on our Tournaments Page. Congratulations to all our winners. The demos are already available on our demo website. We'll be transcoding some of the Quake Live demos over the next week.

Expect website updates to become less frequent over the next few days as we all return to our homes and Real Lives, but we should have another daily video for you in the next couple of days and updated galleries.

In the meantime, enjoy this gallery from Saturday.

So, what happened on Friday? General News
OMG it's late, or early depending on your point of view. They've just announced that the network will be up and running for another 8 hours and 20 minutes, which should give us just enough time to put up another daily video update. Today's flick covers our vendor area, the tournaments, one of the numerous Quick Draws, AMD's Friday Night Event, and the Forum Whore's meeting.

As usual, if you're in the BYOC, you can download the video from the local file share, or at least for the next 8 hours.

Now, back to Quake Live CTF.....

Come on Down General News
Friday is in full swing at the Hilton Anatole, but don't think that just because you missed the first 2 days that it's already over. There's much more still in store for QuakeCon 2008. Tonight there's the QuakeCon Texas Hold'em Charity Poker tournament and a screening of the professional gaming documentary Frag. Tomorrow will feature continued qualifications for the Ventrilo Ultimate Power Up Contest as well as the finals of the QuakeCon 2008 Tournaments. Check out the full schedule for details.

Just a reminder that registration will run from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and from 9:00 AM until 12:00PM Sunday. To reiterate the obvious, you can't register when registration is not open. Of note, as of 4:30 PM Friday there are still approximately 850 BYOC spots open - so pack up your rig and come on down.

Finally, we have another video for your enjoyment, featuring interviews with both BYOC and Tournament attendees.

Note that BYOC attendees can download the videos locally from the file server.
